Fusion Band

The Drexel University Fusion Band is an advanced performance ensemble exploring a variety of musical styles and genres including but not limited to funk, reggae, salsa, samba, afro-Cuban, and world music. Improvisation is an important aspect of the ensemble experience. Audition requirements include a demonstration of proficiency on one's instrument, knowledge of scales and chords, the ability to read music, and a demonstrated ability to improvise. In certain instances, a personal recommendation from the student's teacher may be used in lieu of an actual audition. Performance scholarships are available for this ensemble. Scholarship auditions are generally held during Accepted Student's Weekend which will be held on April 12^th and 13^th, but may be scheduled at any time by contacting Ms. Lynn Riley, Fusion Band director, at mcr27@drexel.edu or call (215) 895-4915.
