Design Thinking & Doing

January 22, 2015

A growing number of companies are turning to design thinking to tackle complex challenges. The design thinking process can be diversely applied in a wide-range of fields to innovatively develop products and services that meet society’s needs. In a University-wide workshop that unravels the mysteries of the process, Product Design Associate Program Director Verena Paepcke-Hjeltness and Architecture & Interiors Professor Diana Nicholas will share the tools needed to frame and re-frame problems and develop solutions. The interactive workshop will focus on identifying market opportunities and using a deeply human-centered approach in business endeavors.

Drexel faculty, students and staff can click here to register for the free workshop, which will take place on Wednesday, January 28 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm in the ExCITE Center (3401 Market Street). This is the second Design Thinking & Doing Workshop that professors Nicholas and Paepcke-Hjeltness have organized with Drexel’s Close School for Entrepreneurship. The workshop will engage participants in exercises associated with design thinking, including the double diamond design process, data synthesis, and ideating and sketching concepts.
