On the Next DNEWS...

February 7, 2014

A key word for this month’s episode of DNEWS is variety. The story range for DNEWS' January 2014 episode includes: New Year’s resolutions, Bubble Tea, a male pageant, war veteran art and much more! This episode will air tonight (Feb. 7) on DUTV at 8 p.m.

As always, these stories are being shot, edited and presented by Westphal's finest TV Production and Film & Video students. Our very own Jessica Franklin and Tristan Seyek were able to get some inside info on a fun upcoming event called "Deepher Dude." During the shoot, Jessica interviewed the male pageant contestants as well as the DPhiE girls who are in charge of making this event possible.

A huge point of interest in this event is that all of the money goes towards the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Another student for DNEWS, John LaRussa, shot two shows for the January segment. During the month of November, he and Darby Irrgang covered a Drexel exhibit called "The Joe Bonham Project."

The Joe Bonham Project displays art created by, and of, Iraq War Veterans in an effort to show the realities of our current Middle-Eastern conflict. Joe’s second story highlights students’ opportunities to enjoy local music on campus. There will surely be something for everyone in this edition of DNEWS. Stay tuned for these exciting stories and more that will follow in the upcoming months of 2014.
