ScholarSip Event with Dr. Frank Lee

December 3, 2014

On Monday, December 8 at 4:00pm, Game Art & Production Professor Dr. Frank Lee will present a ScholarSip session in Drexel’s Academic Bistro. Director of Drexel’s Entrepreneurial Game Studio, Professor Lee will discuss “Buildings as Game Tokens: Exploring the Interaction of Physical Spaces and Digital Games.” In the last two years Professor Lee completed two Guinness World Record-breaking public art installations with his 29-story, interactive Pong and Tetris games on the sides of Philadelphia’s Cira Centre. In this talk, he will describe the aesthetic of “a shared moment" that he had hoped to achieve for Philadelphians with his skyscraper game projects, and he’ll put forth a larger vision for Urban Games that seeks to use cities and cityscapes as physical tokens in large-scale physical/digital games and interactive storytelling. ScholarSip is a quarterly, informal event for Drexel faculty and professional staff hosted by the Drexel Library. The forum seeks to bring together individuals from across campus to join in cross-disciplinary conversations while celebrating the end of the academic term. Each event serves as a spark for interdisciplinary conversations and connections in recognition of intellectual life on campus.
