Laura Lenhart has been teaching Financial Accounting for Drexel since 2009. Her online course has been hailed as a central course for all cultural management students, helping to make financial accounting principles and practices understandable for students with varying levels of experience in financial management. Her course places financial management in a mission-based context and helps cultural leaders to make sure their financial picture supports their organization’s mission.
Laura Lenhart became the first Controller for the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center in 2002, and currently serves as Vice President of Finance and Operations for the Center, which is located in downtown Appleton, Wisconsin. The Fox Cities Performing Arts Center is a $12 million non-profit organization providing the Fox Cities community with over 400 events per year including a Broadway series, cultural series and education series and many commercial, community and private events.
Lenhart is responsible for leading all finance, human resource, administration, IT, physical plant, theatrical productions, front of house and concession teams consisting of over 500 staff and volunteers.
Lenhart, a certified public accountant, has many years of experience in public accounting specializing in serving nonprofit organizations. She worked for several local and regional companies before joining the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center’s leadership team.
In addition to her professional position, Lenhart serves on The Broadway League’s Road/Labor subcommittee, the Women’s Fund audit and finance committee, CFOArts, International Association of Assembly Managers (IAAM) and is a partner in Just Thinking, LLC.
Lenhart has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Mankato State University, Mankato, Minnesota.
