Mary E. Cavallaro serves as the Chief Broadcast Officer, News & Broadcast for the Screen Actors Guild / American Federation of Television & Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA). Mary is responsible for overseeing the negotiation and administration of over 250 labor agreements with network and local broadcast employers nationwide, chairing national negotiations for the Network News Agreements as well negotiations with employers with operations in multiple markets and working with the SAG-AFTRA Broadcast Steering Committee on policy and matters of concern to SAG-AFTRA members. In addition to her work in News & Broadcast, Mary oversees SAG-AFTRA’s work in Audiobooks and Organizing.
Mary began her work for both unions in Philadelphia where she served as Business Representative / Staff Counsel for the AFTRA Local and Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Philadelphia Branch and later as a National Representative / Staff Counsel for AFTRA. Prior to her return to SAG-AFTRA in her current position, Mary was Of Counsel with the firm of Montgomery, McCracken, Walker & Rhoads in Philadelphia representing media talent and creative professionals regarding personal services contracts, production development, copyright, licensing and other intellectual property matters.
Mary has been an adjunct professor of Media Law at Drexel University, and she serves on the Board of Trustees of Sacred Heart Academy, Bryn Mawr. She received her JD from Villanova University School of Law and her BA from the University of Southern California.
