Design & Merchandising
Jennifer Brown '11 completed a co-op with Priscilla of Boston as a Buying and Merchandising intern. Jennifer traveled to New York City to attend the company's Bridal Market Fashion Show and was present for the debut of new accessory products. Some of Jennifer's other responsibilities included creating brand and bridal assortment boards, placing orders for new merchandise, managing Priscilla of Boston's social media accounts, and helping to create an accessories display for a social events.
Stacey Matzkin '11 worked for two companies during her co-op period. Stacey was the Store Operations intern at Barney's New York and CO-OP departments for five months. She analyzed data to create reports on sales associates' weekly sales for the VP of Barneys CO-OP and helped create visual displays. Stacey then worked as the Women's Accessories Buying intern at Urban Outfitters, working with the handbags, small goods, and footwear buying teams.

Digital Media
Christine Adams '11 worked on various projects at Environmental Tectonics Corporation, from 3D modeling and animation to video editing. Christine's responsibilities included working on videos that would be used within the company and on other websites, as well as developing projects in Flash that were used for marketing projects and other pieces used to relay information.
Bernard Lieberman '11 completed a user-research and experience design co-op with Comcast. Some of Bernard's responsibilities included scheduling participants for usability studies and observing these sessions. Bernard also helped a team to compile a list of new technology that will be integrated into Comcast's lab within the following year.

Entertainment & Arts Management
Kristen Tripolitis '12 completed a co-op abroad working as an assistant in fundraising for Labyrinth Musical Workshop, a longstanding world music center based on the island of Crete, Greece. Her tasks included creating promotional videos and literature, helping to set up a group of donors, and planning and preparing for LMW's annual festival. Kristen also had the opportunity to work closely with legendary folk musician Ross Daly, the founder of LMW, and to meet internationally renowned musicians such as Kelly Thoma and Zohar Fresco.
Stephanie Hollander '11 worked in Nashville, Tennessee at MACS/AMAX Modeling and Talent Agency as a Talent Intern. MACS/AMAX has been in the industry for over thirty years and provides services to the music industry, print, advertising, video, film, TV, modeling, high fashion and editorial worlds.

Fashion Design
Brittany Adams '11 attended fittings and merchandising meetings at Link Theory Holdings with the senior designer, creative director, and CEO of the company. Brittany's responsibilities included assisting designers with development samples, sending purchase orders and trim sheets to international vendors, organizing lay-outs of sweaters, and creating a library system for swatches, files, and archives.
Kristy Jost '11 completed a research co-op at Drexel University where she worked on a nanomaterials team with Volker Presser, Jake McDonough, Holly Burnside, and Danielle Tadros. Her team studied the potential that nanotechnology presents in the integration of energy and circuitry into fabrics, to combine functioning technology with fashion. Kristy presented a poster on her project, titled "Fabrics Capable of Capacitive Energy Storage," at the International Society for Electrochemistry meeting in Nice, France.

Film & Video
Michael Long '11 worked with NFL Films on his spring/summer co-op. Michael participated in shoots featuring director Spike Lee and former NFL player Tiki Barber and Matt Millen along with current player Hines Ward for the ten-episode series The Top 100: NFL's Greatest Players, which debuted September 3rd. Michael also had the opportunity to work on location on the critically acclaimed series Hard Knocks.
Clayton Hereth '11 worked as a Production Assistant with CollegeHumor.com. "It was great to work on set and see the production process from start to finish," he said. Clayton would typically work on two to three shoots per week. "It was a great experience for me to work on a professional set," Clayton explained. Currently, he is continuing to work for College Humor in a free-lance position.

Graphic Design
Nicole Ducoin '11, redesigned a new logo and created a brochure for WINS (Women in Natural Science) during her co-op with the Academy of Natural Science. Nicole also designed digital, print and web advertisements for the Academy's summer exhibit, "Creatures of the Abyss." These ads were displayed in Septa train stations, the Philadelphia Weekly newspaper, and billboards. "It was amazing seeing my work all over the city!" she said. Nicole's other responsibilities included designing informational panels and image labels for the Art of Science Gallery and creating an event map for the academy's Member's Night event.
Ismael Kalingba '11 worked with Philadelphia Union Soccer Team. "I've done various projects, from poster and stadium advertisements, roster cards, and player cards, to graphics and ads for Philadelphia Union's website," he said. Ismael's responsibilities included assisting the team's Video Coordinator by uploading actions shots from games to the Union's website and going on marketing tours to promote the team during away games and other events.
Sarah Solomon '11 completed a co-op with RJW Collective, a marketing and advertising agency. "I loved working with RJW Collective because I was allowed to work on real accounts and I got to see a busy agency in action," she said.

Interior Design
Kathryn Goodman '11 recently completed a co-op with Space Design, Incorporated, which employs many Drexel graduates. Space Design is an architectural firm based in Philadelphia which specializes in interior design, space planning, facilities management and space measurement services. Katherine did everything from the space planning of projects to the construction and documentation of those projects.
Shauna Capen '11 worked at Ewing Cole, a nationally renowned architectural, engineering, interior design and planning firm, as an entry-level interior designer. Shauna's responsibilities included meeting with product representatives to learn of new products, composing finish boards for client presentations, writing furniture specifications, organizing interior design materials and the research library, and assisting designers in selections of finishes.

Music Industry
Lenny Skolnik '11 completed a co-op in LA, working with famed record producer Howard Benson (Daughtry, Kelly Clarkson, My Chemical Romance, P.O.D., Hoobastank, Papa Roach, the All-American Rejects, and Flyleaf). According to Lenny, the highlight of his co-op was "composing and playing the keyboards/strings and programming for the upcoming Saliva record. I also sat in on countless recording sessions run by Mike Plotnikoff, for Saliva and Three Doors Down." Lenny notes that he "also filled cars with gas, swept patios, made coffee, picked people up from the airport and took lunch orders. ALL WORTH IT!"
Harris Pike, '12 worked in the Research and Analysis Department of WEA (Warner Elektra Atlantic) which is the distribution branch of Warner Music Group (WMG). At WEA, Harris did research to ascertain possible sales impacts when a song was used in hit television shows like Entourage, True Blood, and Dancing with the Stars. In addition, Harris also studied the effect iTunes sales had on the company's revenue and created reports of current album sale trends.
Alex Frankel, '12 was the assistant to the Music Supervisor at Lionsgate Films. Alex contacted publishing companies, record labels, and musical groups to obtain legalities required for including music clips in television and films. One project of Alex's was to pitch a film to musician Tom Waits, in the hope that Waits would agree to compose a song for the soundtrack. "Although it was unsuccessful, it was still an awesome experience," he said. Alex also had the opportunity to work on critically acclaimed television shows like Mad Men and Weeds, and the movies The Next Three Days, Saw3D, and the Expendables.

Photography
Kara Khan '11, Emily Smith '11, and Brittani Thomas '11 had the opportunity to travel to India with their employer, Catherine Jansen. In India, they did collaborative projects with Catherine, including helping to set up a photography workshop for the local children in Assi Ghat. Photographs taken by the children, Kara, Emily, and Brittani were published in Catherine's electronic book, Street Children Photograph Street Animals. The students had the opportunity to work on a service project with Catherine in which they gave refurbished toys to children. This event was filmed by Kara, Emily, and Brittani and posted on the web. They also spent time in Catherine's studio working on her websites, researching projects, and organizing files and equipment.
Screenwriting & Playwriting
Nicole Marchesani '11 worked at Rain Management Group in Los Angeles. At Rain, one of Nicole's responsibilities was reading the many scripts and pilots that were sent to the Agency. Nicole also had the opportunity to attend the Saturn Awards, which are presented annually by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films to honor the top works of those genres in motion pictures and television. Ben Silverio '11, a fellow Screenwriting and Playwriting major, also worked with Nicole at Rain.
