Assistant/Associate/ or Full Professor of Architecture in Environmental Building Design

Job Overview: The Department of Architecture + Interiors at Drexel University seeks qualified applicants for a full-time position at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor beginning August 1, 2013. This is a tenure-track or with-tenure appointment. We are seeking an energetic colleague who will be responsible for maintaining and extending the discipline of architecture through their teaching, scholarship, and participation in the governance of the Department and College.

Essential Functions:

  • Teaching 12-21 credit hours per year
  • Candidate’s research will ideally advance the department’s capacity to evaluate and develop innovative prototypes for the department’s emerging design-build program
  • Service to the Department, the College, and the profession

Qualifications: This position calls for candidates qualified to offer undergraduate and graduate-level instruction in environmental design simulation with advanced digital visualization and analysis. Candidates should present an established research agenda in performance-driven design utilizing computational modeling. Previous teaching experience is preferred as is a record of successful grant applications. At a minimum, applicants should possess a Master of Architecture or a Ph.D. in the area of specialization. Professional licensure is desirable. This position offers a nationally-competitive salary, substantial startup funds and the necessary university infrastructure to support advanced research activities. Rank at appointment is commensurate with experience.
