Ada is a founding partner of several design and property development corporations over the past 30 years, collaboratively working with architects and interior designers as well as other engineering and multi-disciplinary professionals. A practicing professional, with a high energy personality, Ada has a passion for her industry with unique talents that combine a strong business sense and work ethic with award winning design skills. She has done work in the Eastern US region from NY to FL. Currently Ms. Tremonte is the president of a d a Design Associates, specializing in workplace strategies and commercial design, as well as consults to architectural firms. Projects include the offices of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Consulate Generali D’Italia, the Special Victims Unit for the city of Philadelphia, Carnival Cruise Lines in Miami, FL, and has designed in the Empire State Building.

Ada instructs at all levels in the interior design undergraduate BS program as well as the graduate MS program including advising for thesis students. “My philosophy is to meld professional practice and its principles into academic learning to achieve a better rounded, “industry-aware” graduate who enters the workforce with not only creative problem solving abilities, but with real world knowledge and business sense.”

Ada is an Executive Board member of IDLCPA (Interior Designer’s Legislative Coalition of PA), is a Drexel sponsor on Interior Design Day at the capitol in Harrisburg, PA along with a selected group of students, and is an NCIDQ certificate holder. Awards include several first and second place ASID awards for commercial projects as well as first place in GBCA’s (General Builder’s and Contractor’s Association) Best Commercial Project. Ada is a past recipient of the Top 100 Women by Business Philadelphia in their Women to Watch issue. Who’s Who inductions include Who’s Who Among College Students, Who’s Who of American Women, Who’s Who of Executives, Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in Collegiate Faculty, and Who’s Who in Academia.

She has taught in the Philadelphia public schools through Foundation for Architecture’s Architecture in Schools program and has performed pro-bono design consulting for the Ronald McDonald House of Philadelphia, and for Cristo Rey, a new model work-study high school in Philadelphia.

Professor Tremonte was named among the top 25 most admired educators in the United States by Design Intelligence. She was selected for her ability to inspire her students to think outside of the box, and for being an innovative and engaging educator who brings out the best in her students. She was chosen alongside faculty from universities such as the University of Pennsylvania, MIT, Princeton University, Harvard University, Virginia Tech and Cornell University.

Furthermore, Design Intelligence ranked both the BS Interior Design and the MS Interior Architecture + Design programs among the Top 10 Interior Design Schools. This recognition is based on a global network of design, product, construction and real estate leaders who explore global trends, changes and opportunities for innovation.
