I Am A Practicing, Collaborative Visual Artist, Passionate Arts Administrator & Advocate.

I received a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Painting & Drawing from East Carolina University in 2005 and my Masters of Science in Arts Administration from Drexel University's graduate program in 2010. At the end of my time in graduate school, my thesis, titled "How the History of Visual Art, Society, Morality and the Law Converge" won Drexel's Best Thesis Award. In 2008 I relocated to Philadelphia and entered the Drexel graduate program to pursue a more multi-faceted role in the world of art and culture. While a student at Drexel, I spent two years on the Arts Administration Graduate Association board coordinating with campus and city organizations on logistics in planning multiple activities based on networking, fundraising, art auctions and arts advocacy.

Since graduating, I have established a loyal clientele of organizations and individuals with graphic design and illustration needs. In January 2011, I founded the Artistic Rebuttal Project - a grassroots art advocacy initiative that strives to re-enforce and enlighten about the power of the arts. "Art and storytelling is in my genes. Art and storytelling was what convinced me to get out of a town that was suffocating me. Art and storytelling is what I advocate for now. I am on a mission to keep art where it belongs - at the center of a society and economy that requires ideas and imagination." On the project's behalf, I periodically travel around the country speaking with university students, adults and kids, imploring them to become active in their communities in order to better serve the places in which they are rooted. Only when the public knows the importance of art, can the arts act as a civic lesson to citizens everywhere.

In October 2011, I was nominated a Creative Connector, a recognition pioneered by Leadership Philadelphia. Creative Connectors are "hubs of trust, seen as trustworthy and credible who use art and design to mobilize people around an issue."

My experience with outreach, design and my passion for educating the creatively-minded of this country has grown exponentially with years of coordinating between hundreds of artists, established and emerging.

Art making, who makes the art and how they interact throughout any society is what I live for.
