John Blatteau has been a member of Drexel`s faculty since 1978. From 1978 till 1984 he taught in both the second year design studio and in the sixth year Urban Design studio. Since his return to teaching at Drexel in 1996, his responsibilities include serving as a studio critic in the Thesis Design studio as well as leading the annual summer study tour of Paris. He has also taught at the University of Pennsylvania for twenty-five years. John Blatteau is a frequent and popular lecturer on the subject of classical architecture. The work of John Blatteau Associates has been published around the world in a variety of books and periodicals on architecture and urban design. In addition to his published work, he has authored many articles in order to communicate and strengthen the importance of classical architecture. The work of his firm has won many design awards, including several from the Philadelphia and Washington DC chapters of the American Institute of Architects and from the Pennsylvania Society of Architects. He is also a member of the Society of Architectural Historians and Classical America.
