Lauren Bilski PT, DPT, PCBIS is a 2013 graduate of Drexel University’s Bachelor of Science in Dance program with a concentration in physical therapy. As a member of the Dance Ensemble at Drexel University, Lauren composed 3 pieces for the company and reconstructed a work for the FreshDance ensemble. Additionally, she was deeply passionate about her work within Drexel’s Youth Performance Exchange which included introducing movement experiences and choreography at Philadelphia public schools and performing with the Touring Ensemble. In 2011, Lauren was a featured performer with Drexel Dance while representing the United States in the Singapore Youth Festival. She was crowned Miss Philadelphia 2012 and spent her year engaged in the Philadelphia community, performing at a variety of events and venues, promoting her platform, “Bounce Back from Brain Injury,” and being recognized for outstanding service to the Brain Injury Community.
Lauren continued performing after Drexel including performing two seasons with Danse4Nia, a multicultural, contemporary dance company under the direction of Antoinette Coward Gilmore. She also appeared with Carbon Dance Theatre, a contemporary ballet company under the direction of Meredith Rainey. Lauren worked as a choreographer and assistant director of the Drexel University Touring Ensemble in 2013 and has served in both Executive Director and Producer roles for the Miss Philadelphia Scholarship Organization over the past 4 years.
Lauren continued to explore her passion for movement offstage by pursuing a career in Physical Therapy. In 2016, Lauren completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Thomas Jefferson University receiving accolades including “Emerging Leader Award” and “Student Achievement Award”. She has begun her career in neurologic Physical Therapy practice and is currently employed on the Spinal Cord Injury Unit of one of the nation’s top rehabilitation hospitals, Magee Rehabilitation.
