Clagett has years of experience as a speech language pathologist working in public schools and healthcare sites in West Virginia. She currently works in Harrison County Schools. Clagett is a parent of daughter, Bronwyn, a high school freshman, and son, Brice, a college student. An active civic leader, she is past president and local officer of the Fairmont Junior Chamber and former vice president of the West Virginia Junior Chamber. Clagett is the West Virginia Junior Chamber Training Coordinator and a certified national trainer with Junior Chamber International (JCI). She serves as the Board President of West Virginia Parent Training and Information (WV PTI). Clagett is the President Elect of American Association of University Women – West Virginia (AAUW-WV) and member of the national AAUW Association Public Policy Committee.
Clagett is past president of the West Virginia Speech-Language-Hearing Association and receiving “Honors of the Association” for many active years in WVSHA Governmental Affairs. She has worked as an active citizen serving on West Virginia Legislature Interim Committees and appointed by Gov. Gaston Caperton as member and chair of the West Virginia Medicaid Enhancement Board during the 1990s. She is a summa cum laude graduate of Marshall University with BA and MA degrees in speech pathology and audiology.
