Over the last 20 years Gina has served in a variety of positions in healthcare and has dedicated much of her energy to non-profit organizations supporting women and their families. She began working for the State of Nevada, in a group home for challenged youth, followed by several years working with at risk families providing therapy. Gina then made a shift to working at Northern Nevada Medical Center’s Senior Bridges, Geriatric-Psychiatric unit for several years, followed by marketing the program for seniors and selling the managed care and other hospital services to employer groups in the greater Reno/Sparks area of northern Nevada.
In 2000 she joined Novartis Pharmaceuticals and began promoting products for cardiovascular disease, the #1 killer among women. Currently, Gina is a Regional Account Manger covering the northwest region on the US. She serves as a co-lead on mentoring initiatives on the Women In Leadership Steering Committee and is an award winning member of the Northern California Leadership Team where she is recognized for innovative approaches to improving customer satisfaction. She is driven each day by her passion to impact patient’s lives by bringing quality medicines and information to their physicians.
For nearly 10 years Gina served on the Board of Directors for STEP 2, a local non-profit organization assisting women and their families in recovery from drug and alcohol abuse. In 2005 and as the Board Chair for nearly 5 years, she led the efforts to raise over 2 million dollars to fund The Lighthouse Project. Phase 1 of Lighthouse provided funding to build 15 individual homes in a campus format, so that women and their children could live independently, in a safe environment, receiving counseling and other services. The ultimate goal for the women in the program is to be able to begin a new life, free of addiction and be reunited with their family. Gina demonstrates a passion for her community and actively works to mentor young women to accomplish their goals and is working with the University of Nevada to establish a mentoring program through her website CareerMentoringNV.com as the state initiative for Vision 2020.
