Cheryl Myers, of Portland, OR, is the Director of Economic & Business Equity in the Office of Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber, MD. Appointed to the Cabinet in January 2011, she is a senior policy advisor to the Governor on issues related to minority-owned, woman-owned, emerging small business and disadvantaged business enterprises. Additionally, Myers provides strategic direction to internal agency leadership, engages with small businesses, external stakeholders and the Legislature. A lifetime Oregonian, her two decades of private sector experience as a business owner have proven highly valuable in relating to and advocating for small businesses. Myers serves as the Governor’s Tribal Economic Cluster liaison and lends support to the Oregon Small Business Advisory Council. She is deeply committed to community, serving on both local and national organization boards.
