Bernadette L. Merikle of Snoqualmie, WA serves on the Senior Leadership Team of the Highline Public School District (Burien, WA) as the Community Engagement Manager. Bernadette has a decade of experience in educational equity & diversity initiatives in public schools, two year colleges and four year universities. Ms. Merikle graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Communication as a Cornell Tradition Scholar and a Coca-Cola Scholar. An M.Ed graduate from Seattle University, Bernadette has presented nationally on educational leadership, consults on widening the college access pipeline and currently serves on the Coca-Cola Scholar Foundation National Program Review Committee.
 
Exemplifying community service at the intersections of race, class and gender in the field of education, Ms. Merikle's resume has included numerous civic boards such as the Washington Assessment of Student Learning Bias & Fairness Review Board and the South Puget Sound Higher Education Diversity Partnership. Bernadette has served as a Diversity Columnist for The Olympian. A first year member of the Junior League of Seattle, Bernadette was recently named Provisional of the Year. Ms. Merikle is one of two national delegates from Washington for Vision 2020: An American Conversation About Women and Leadership.
