Dialogue on Diversity

Biography

Maria Cristina Caballero is the founder, president and CEO of Dialogue on Diversity, a nonprofit educational organization based in the District of Columbia that works as a forum for interchange of experience and ideas among women of many ethnic and cultural communities.

An important additional facet of the Dialogue’s work is seen in the series of Public Affairs Forums held annually on Capitol Hill, which have expanded under Caballero's prompting to include the summer Health Care Symposia, in which Dialogue on Diversity has collaborated with agencies of the Montgomery County, Maryland government, a variety of health-related agencies in the metro area and the Housing Issues and Domestic Violence Awareness Colloquia presented each fall.

In 1989,  Caballero was chosen to participate in an intensive study program of Executive Leadership Training, a course continuing over a nine-month period, including two weeks of schooling in state-of-the-art management and administrative techniques at the Kennedy School of Management at Harvard University and at the Center for Creative Leadership at Greensboro, North Carolina.  This program was designed to involve the participating Latina leaders in a continuing colloquium on public policy, the challenge of leadership and the urgent issues affecting Hispanic women.

In 1994, she received a competitive fellowship for study in the Executive International Business Certificate Program at Georgetown University in an eight-month series on the topics of international business finance, marketing and business planning.

Caballero received a scholarship to the Minority Business Executive Training during August 2005 at the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.
