Diversity and Social Justice Initiatives

Unity through Diversity

Unity through Diversity is an initiative by The Student Center for Inclusion and Culture. Cultural, religious clubs and all other students at Drexel will come together to discuss a topic on diversity.  Topics proposed include class, identity, morality, and values of the Drexel community. The dialogue circle offers a discussion of cultural, political, and religious perspectives on a different topic each month.  The Unity through Diversity committee believes that each student will offer new and distinct views to conversations that are often seen as uncomfortable. Unity through Diversity provides a safe and friendly environment where individuals can come together to build partnerships and connections, and gain new perspectives.

Diversity Retreat

The Student Center for Inclusion and Culture will present the 1st annual Diversity Retreat coming Fall 2012, which will be focused in cultural leadership. Forms of leadership vary across cultures and these differences can be better used once they are identified and discussed. The Diversity Retreat will consist of students sharing two days of cultural leadership development workshops and intergroup dialogues relating to diversity and multiculturalism.
