Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Coaching Education Courses

In April 2014, the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) mandated that all coaches complete coursework in coaching education, first aid, concussion training, and sudden cardiac arrest training in order to remain or become a coach in the PIAA.

Drexel University offers online courses on both the undergraduate and graduate level that will satisfy PIAA requirements.  In addition, non-credit courses are offered face-to-face and online through Drexel's Sports Leadership Academy that can be applied towards the Certificate in Sport Coaching Leadership (certificate in development).

Both undergraduate and graduate level courses are offered in a fully online format. Coaches who are interested in taking these courses may submit an application for admission as a non-degree/non-matriculated student.  Undergraduate students may apply through part-time undergraduate admissions.  Graduate students may apply through Drexel University Online.
