M.S. in Learning Technologies
The M.S. in Learning Technologies is a comprehensive program whose mission is to provide instruction to successfully integrate design thinking and the learning sciences into the educational and training processes.
The field of learning technologies today is dynamic and exciting. The trend toward wireless connectivity and mobile computing is changing the ways that we learn, communicate, and teach. Tech-savvy students who grew up with digital media have different expectations for learning. They value interactivity, creative expression, collaboration, hands-on experiences, games and social networking.
Today, there is a strong demand for learning scientists who can identify learning and performance needs and create solutions in educational, corporate and business settings.
Our goal is to develop learning technology leaders with the capacity to solve learning and performance problems collaboratively through a transformational model of change. Each course is developed with an emphasis on design thinking, a creative and innovative approach to discovering learning and training solutions through technology. With a strategic direction, highly experienced faculty, and innovative curriculum, we prepare graduates for roles in school settings as well as for positions in for-profit organizations, training divisions and others.
The four concentrations in this program have been carefully developed to address emerging learning technology trends. All are based on pedagogical and technological expertise resulting in students developing creative design skills through hands-on experiences with new media tools and learning formats.
