M.S. in Learning Technologies
The six-credit co-op experience is completed in two courses in consecutive terms (part-time, 20 weeks).
In a weekly seminar, students share journal entries, complete assigned readings, and participate in discussions to prepare for a comprehensive portfolio based on explicit criteria, including samples of work and course projects.
Co-op 1 is used for the preliminary planning and proposal development. Taken along with Research Methodologies in Action Research course, the assignments from the research course will also apply as cross-curricular assignments with Co-op 1 and finalize the Co-op proposal.
In the Co-op 2 course taken in the second term, students actually work “in the field.” With the guidance of the co-op mentor and support of the course instructor, students gain practical experience to compliment the theory and pedagogy learned in courses taken throughout the matriculation period in the program.
Upon completion of the co-op courses, students will have a solid foundation of knowledge, research skills, and experience to add to their credentials.
