After being in the Higher Education program for a year, Porsche Johnson was hired by Drexel’s LeBow College of Business in 2012. She is the program coordinator for the undergraduate advising office. She enjoys engaging students and assisting them as they achieve their academic goals. Now that she has earned her degree, she plans to continue working at Drexel.
She initially chose the School of Education to further her knowledge of the higher education system.
“Drexel was the perfect choice,” Johnson says.
The most important skills she gained in her courses were how to lead effectively, the importance and struggles of diversity on campuses, and how to evaluate safety and security on campuses.
Porsche is a native of Camden, N.J., where she attended Creative Arts High School. She earned a B.A. in sociology from Rowan University. Previously, she served as a life skills trainer in New Jersey, where she supported youth and young adults in their transition to adulthood.
