M.S. in Global and International Education
The experiential and integrated nature of our programs is a key part of the Drexel philosophy. True learning is acquired when academics are applied to relevant assignments and projects in the field.
Students participate in 20 weeks of a part-time co-op during which, students may work in their current place of employment in a capacity outside the scope of their daily tasks, or they may draw from their network to create an appropriate co-op, with the approval of the faculty advisor. Students are encouraged to pursue co-op opportunities that will prepare them for the career they seek upon graduation.
With the guidance and support of the co-op advisor, students gain practical experience to compliment the theories and philosophies learned in courses taken throughout the matriculation period in the program. These complimentary skills and research are documented in the final research paper. The culminating event is a defense of the co-op, during which time the student highlights critical elements of the co-op experience, live and online, with a presentation to their co-op panel.
Upon completion of the co-op, students will have a solid foundation of knowledge, research skills, and experience to add to their credentials.
