Certificate in Museum Education

The Certificate in Museum Education is designed to prepare professionals directly or indirectly involved with learning in museum settings to meet the challenges of designing and evaluating learning in informal environments. The program draws on the expertise of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University.

The Certificate in Museum Education is ideal for emerging museum professionals seeking to broaden their knowledge; individuals interested in volunteering in or entering a museum environment; and professionals who aspire to work in a museum setting. Students will gain knowledge and skills in museum administration, education, collections and exhibits to help you pursue or advance a career in the museum sector. Possible career opportunities include education administrators, managers, and exhibit researchers in various foundations, corporations, and associations such as museums, educational centers, cultural centers, human services agencies, and governmental and non-governmental agencies.


Curriculum

Six graduate-level courses totaling 18 credits are required to earn the Certificate in Museum Education.
