In his over 17 years at Drexel, Dr. David A. Ruth has served as Resident Director, Director of Judicial Affairs, Assistant Orientation Director, and Assistant and Associate Dean of Students.
He currently serves as Dean of Students for the University City Main and Center City Hahnemann Campuses. Dr. Ruth and the Student Affairs team coordinate and manage all of the co-curricular aspects of campus life.
Dr. Ruth earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Frostburg State University in Maryland, a Master of Arts degree in Mathematics and Education from Lehigh University, and a Ph.D. in Educational
Leadership and Learning Technology from Drexel's School of Education. He is published in the area of online services for distance education students as well as social networking sites.
Dr. Ruth finds much enjoyment working with students in the classroom as well, serving as an adjunct faculty member in Drexel's LeBow College of Business and the College of Nursing and Health Professions,
teaching courses in Statistics and Mathematics. Dr. Ruth holds an academic appointment teaching graduate courses in Drexel’s School of Education’s Higher Education program.
Dr. Ruth and his wife, Christine, live in West Chester, PA, with their four children.
