    In preparation for upcoming co-op interviews and for students searching for internships and other positions, the Steinbright Career Development Center will host individual Mock Interviews.
    Students will meet one-on-one with a member of the Steinbright professional staff, answer several different styles of interview questions, and receive immediate feedback.  Professional attire is not required.
    Students must schedule a 30-minute time slot by calling the Steinbright Career Development Center.  Appointments are available from noon to 3:30pm.  This event fills-up quickly.

    With increased competition for co-ops, internships and full-time jobs, it is more important than ever to have sharp interview skills. Many employers are turning to behavior-based interview questions to try to predict future performance based on past experience.
    To help prepare students for this style of interview question, the Steinbright Career Development Center will host Answering the Tough Interview Questions.  This workshop will teach the STAR (situation, task, action, result) method of answering behavior-based questions.  General interviewing tips will also be discussed.

    An essential part of your job search preparation is a well-developed 30-Second Commercial, also known as your Elevator Speech.  Your 30-Second Commercial is the answer to “Tell me about yourself” and is your first opportunity to gain a potential employer’s interest.  You will need your 30-Second Commercial for job interviews, career fairs, and employer meet-and-greets. The basics of a good commercial and assistance with getting started on your speech will be provided.
    The Steinbright Career Development Center will host two, 30 minute sessions: one at 5pm, the other at 5:30pm. Choose the time that works for you!

    When we think about interviews, we often imagine a manager with a standard list of questions sitting opposite a candidate who ready to deliver practiced responses about their skills and experience.  But what if the interview looks nothing like that image?  This workshop will prepare students for the wide variety of interview styles that many employers use today, including brainteaser questions, whiteboarding, testing and on-the-spot problem solving, unusual formats, and more.  Participants will leave better equipped to tackle any interview, regardless of the format, because they are prepared to speak about their skills and unique value as a potential employee.
