Limited Submission Competitions

Sponsors sometimes place a limit on the number of proposals that the University may submit in response to specific funding opportunities. These limits are typically defined in the sponsors’ call for proposals.  In such situations, and when there are more promising Drexel proposals than the sponsor allows, the Office of Research holds “limited submission competitions” to identify the most meritorious proposals for submission.

While the Office of Research makes every effort to identify all limited submission funding opportunities and to notify all relevant Drexel stakeholders, Drexel investigators are encouraged to contact the Office for Research should they identify a limited submission funding opportunity that they are interested in but have not yet received an announcement about it from the Office of Research.

Kairi Williams, Director of Strategy & Faculty Support, manages limited submission competitions, notifying faculty of the funding opportunities, soliciting pre-proposals from interested faculty, and coordinating proposal review.  Kairi is the primary point person for general inquiries about the limited submission competition process.  Please send inquiries to Kairi at
