Office of Research moves to Bellet
The Office of Research and Research Accounting Services are currently in the process of consolidating our operations into one location. Currently we are located at 3201 Arch Street (University City) and 1601 Cherry Street (Center City). As of January 1, 2016, we will be consolidated into theBellet Building on Drexel’s Center City campus. We are moving into the 7th, 8th, and 10th floors of the Bellet Building in a phased approached and will officially open our doors on January 1, 2016.
One of our primary goals is to enhance the performance of staff, which leads to improvements in the of quality services. In the Office of Research, our staff are the engine that support faculty research and scholarly efforts at Drexel. As we embark on a path to expand our local, national, and global reputation as a comprehensive and innovative research institution, we need to improve our support of faculty research efforts. This effort is challenging when our Office of Research/Research Accounting Services staff operate out of two distinct locations - a shuttle ride away from each other.
Consolidation into one location provides us the opportunity to update our internal infrastructure to improve communication, cooperation, collaboration, creativity, and innovation between these teams, which is crucial to our research administration efforts. An added benefit of this move to Center City is that it frees up much needed space for the academic units in the academic heart of the University City campus. Our effective reliance on electronic research administrative systems, like COEUS, has dramatically reduced the need for the University’s research community to make face-to-face visits to the Office of Research. We will continue to hold our regular training programs and other face-to-face events across all of our campuses in an effort to improve our outreach. Please don’t hesitate to visit us at our new location, immediately next to the Center City Shuttle stop.
Our new address is the Bellet Building on the Center City Campus at 1505 Race Street and updated phone numbers can be found on our staff listing. General questions can still be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Office of the Senior Vice Provost for Research will remain in its current location at the Left Bank.
