Training Opportunities: Proposal Development Workshops

The Office of Research is sponsoring two one-day proposal development workshops in partnership with the Grant Training Center on the following dates from 9:00am to 5:00pm:

Monday, March 21, 2016
Department of Defense (DoD) Professional Proposal Development

In this workshop, participants will learn:

  • Key elements of effective proposal writing and writing white papers
  • Research funding available through DoD
  • Understanding branch, program and grant mechanisms
  • Reading and interpreting Broad Agency Announcements (BAAs)
  • Working with DoD Program Officer(s)

Tuesday, March 22, 2016
Department of Energy (DoE) Professional Proposal Development

In this workshop, participants will learn:

  • Key elements of effective proposal writing
  • Navigating the DoE for Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs)
  • Early Career Research Program
  • Understanding the eligibility and submission requirements for ASCR, BES, BER, FES, HEP, NP, SBIR/STTR

Each interactive workshop is open to all Drexel University faculty and fellows, and professional staff engaged in the research enterprise. Seating is limited to 80 participants per workshop, therefore priority will be given to faculty.

Workshops will take place in the George D. Behrakis Grand Hall, which is adjacent to the Main Lounge in the Creese Student Union Complex, 3210 Chestnut Street. Continental breakfast will be provided beginning at 8:30am.

Registration Information

In order to participate, you must register. Registration does not guarantee participation, as priority will be given to faculty. Registration for both workshops will close Friday, March 11, 2016. Confirmation of participation will be sent out no later than Tuesday, March 15, 2016.
