Update: Government Shutdown

Office of Research is happy to report that FastLane (NSF) and the eRA Commons (NIH) are both functional once again and ready to accept applications.

The NIH has published an announcement (NOT-OD-14-003) that lists revised due dates for activity codes with original deadlines affected by the government shutdown. Please check your specific Funding Opportunity Announcement to verify the new due date.

Due to the large number of queued messages and waiting applications from Grants.gov, the timing of email notifications from the Commons may be off. Do not rely on email notifications concerning your applications. Investigators are encouraged to proactively check the Commons for the status of any application submission made prior to, or during, the shutdown.

NSF’s most recent communication did not provide additional guidance regarding their agency’s deadlines, but Office of Research will send updates as soon as we are aware of an announcement. Project reports for active NSF awards that became overdue during the shutdown should be submitted via Research.gov as soon as possible.

Please contact your Pre-Award Administrator for additional assistance or guidance. Thank you for your patience as we work through the backlog of submissions.
