No experience is necessary for private climbing instruction at the Drexel Recreation Center. Private instructors will accommodate members so they can learn to climb when it fits their schedule.
Instructors at the Recreation Center can teach beginner through advanced skills. Advanced skill sets will be taught by an AMGA (American Mountain Guides Association)
or PCIA (Professional Climbing
Instructors' Association) certified climbing instructor. Equipment is provided.
What we can teach:
- How to belay
- Improve technique and movement
- The basics of rappelling
- Learn to lead climb
- Anchor building for top rope and multi-pitch set-ups
- Vertical rescue from basic belay transfers to ascending to injured climbers
Drexel Student: $20 / one session & $50 / three sessions
Recreation Center Member: $25 / one session & $65 / three sessions
Non-Member: $40 / one session & $95 / three sessions
Classes are non-refundable.
