Each academic term, Recreational Athletics conducts a captain’s meeting for each of the major sports leagues. The purpose of this meeting is to establish communication among the intramural program and teams through the team captain, and review all pertinent program policies, game procedures and rules. The captain’s meeting will discuss captain responsibilities, team expectations, program values, league rules, and extramural opportunities. Intramural team captains are required to attend the scheduled captain’s meeting for the designated league sport and sign off on a Captain’s Agreement form.
Tips from the Captain’s Corner
- By being selected as team captain you have a unique opportunity to learn leadership, communication and decision making skills!
- We highly encourage teams to work together with the on-site game staff to create the best possible environment for play and competition.
- Intramurals are about having fun! We are cognitive that participants look to partake in intramurals for the competitiveness, the recreational outlet, and the team interaction, but we never
lose sight of the main focus of having fun and socializing through sports!
