Namasté All Day

November 14, 2018

Hello, Dragons!! This week on My Rec Life, Ambeisa, Alex, and Nate calm things down a bit and try their hands at yoga.

Ambeisa here! This week we attended a yoga class where the instructor (NAME OF INSTRUCTOR HERE) taught a blend of vinyasa and mindful yoga. Having attended numerous yoga classes in the past, I can safely say this was a unique experience. The flow moved at a steady pace, and the instructor often provided alternative or additional poses to extend or modify our experience. His teaching style allowed room for customization so you could adjust to fit your exercise goals, and he made for a very welcoming yoga environment. I particularly enjoyed the instructor's emphasis on both stretching and mental health. Throughout the flow, we paused to stretch the muscle we had previously strengthened. I found these pauses helped increase my flexibility after each repetition. At the end of class, the instructor led us through a very relaxing Shavasana that left my mind at peace and my body feeling rejuvenated!

Nate back! I’ve been interested in yoga for a while, but this was my first time trying it. It was more strenuous than I thought it’d be- holding those poses really worked muscles I normally never use. Fluidly moving between poses kept my blood flowing, though, and had a significant calming effect. The instructor did a great job setting the pace and made sure everyone was able to keep up. The entire experience was very relaxing. I was actually pretty stressed going into the yoga class, and I definitely think it helped. I’m really glad I tried this class and I’m looking forward to trying other forms of yoga!
