Medical Emergencies

Whenever medical attention is needed, remain calm and summon help as soon as possible. Be aware of the types of medical emergencies and be prepared to act immediately.

Severe (Ambulance Required)

  • Unconsciousness
  • Chest Pains
  • Heart Attack
  • Stroke
  • Seizure

Dial 215-895-2222 or 911 and give the dispatcher the following information:

  • Your name
  • Description of incident
  • Exact location of victim

Post someone to direct EMS personnel.

Non-Severe (Ambulance Not Required)

Dial 215-895-2222 and give the dispatcher the following information:

  • Your name
  • Description of incident
  • Exact location of victim

Post someone to direct responding Public Safety Officers.

Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)

Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) are used in conjunction with Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) to resuscitate a victim of cardiac arrest. All Drexel University Police vehicles and Public Safety mobile units are equipped with AEDs; Drexel University Police officers and Public Safety personnel are certified in First Aid/CPR and AED usage.

AEDs can also be found at the following locations:

  • Public Safety Communications Center - 118 North 34th Street
