Powelton Village, Now and Then

PVCA Public Safety Award

At this year's Drexel Department of Public Safety Induction and Awards ceremony, Robert Taylor, Assistant Director Security, was given the first Powelton Village Civic Association Public Safety Award.

In recognition and appreciation for his work, PVCA gave Roban honorary membership in PVCA and a gift certificate to one of our local restaurants.

As we wrote in the commendation, Rob Tayor has been representing Drexel University in the community for many years and has done an excellent job as aliaison between the university and the members of the community. He is always available and responsive; both students and neighborhood residents know that if Rob is addressing an issue, it will be taken care of. He has earned the respect of both the students and the citizens of Powelton Village. Rob responses to parties and nuisance complaints with tact, defusing situation that could become real problems.

New police officers were inducted and anumber of letters of commendation were presented to various police and public safety personnel. It was a reminder of how much is being done to keep us safe and we will work together indealing with the quality of life issues as well.
