Drexel Officers recognized by ASIS International

Drexel University Police Captain Fred Carbonara and Officer Kim McClay were honored for outstanding acts of police work by the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of ASIS International on March 20.

Carbonara was recognized for the May 2012 arrest of a man who had committed four armed robberies in University City. McClay and Officer James Campbell (no longer with Drexel) received awards for the February 2012 apprehension of a man who assaulted and robbed a student.

Carbonara and McClay received their awards at ASIS International‘s 14th Annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Ceremony held at the Philadelphia Cricket Club. Many Philadelphia area law enforcement dignitaries were in attendance to help recognize a total of 21 officers who performed outstanding acts of police work and risked their lives to protect their communities in 2012. Four officers who lost their lives in the line of duty over the past year were also remembered and honored at the event.

With more than 38,000 members worldwide, ASIS International is the preeminent organization for security professionals.
