This message was sent to faculty and staff on Monday, December 20.

Dear Colleagues,

As we approach the winter break, we want to take this moment to express our gratitude for all your hard work and dedication to Drexel over the past year, which enabled our University to perform exceptionally well under extremely challenging and often rapidly changing circumstances.

To show our gratitude, we are pleased to announce that University offices will close at noon, EST, on Thursday, December 23. We hope that this gift of extra time will make for an even more restful and enjoyable holiday break.

If you are a professional staff member who supports an area that requires you to work during this period, please communicate with your supervisor as to how your time will be managed. Your flexibility is greatly appreciated.

As we continue to navigate difficult and often treacherous terrain, we can never thank you enough for your dedication, adaptability, and patient understanding, as well as your ongoing commitment to the health, safety, and well-being of our students and of each other. If your performance over the past 21 months offers any guide, we are quite optimistic that, as a community and University, we will continue to flourish and excel in all our endeavors in 2022.

On that note, we wish you a joyous holiday season with your loved ones, and a happy new year!

Warm regards,

John Fry
