Important Program Dates and Checklist


Summer Component (July 7 to August 2)

  • Summer Component Application Deadline: June 12, 2014 (11:59 PM EDT)
    • Apply early to ensure the best chance at a space.
  • Summer Component Selection Notification: Begins May 14
    • Offers will be made on a rolling basis.
  • Summer Component Participation Confirmation Deadline: within 5 business days from the time of emailed offer

Academic Year Component Only (Academic Year 2014-15)

We encourage all students to participate in the Summer Component of the program; however if you are unable to attend, you can still apply for the Academic Year Component of the program.

  • Academic Year Component Application Deadline: July 1, 2014 (11:59 PM EDT)
    • Apply early to ensure the best chance at a space.
  • Academic Year Component Selection Notification: Begins June 16 
    • Offers will be made on a rolling basis.
  • Academic Year Component Participation Confirmation Deadline: July 18 


  • Review the Dragon Summer Program Website.
  • Now, decide if this program is right for you. Are you interested and able to make the commitment?
  • Before filling out the online Dragon Summer Program application, familiarize yourself with the application’s short-answer essay questions.
  • You are now ready to submit the Dragon Summer Program application! The deadline for the Summer Component is Friday, May 30 and the Academic Year Component is Tuesday, July 1. Late and incomplete applications will not be accepted.
    • Applicants are encouraged to apply early since application review and offers are made on a rolling basis.


While waiting to hear back about your application to the Summer Component of the Dragon Summer Program, it is important that you begin working on University requirements.

  • Comply with University Immunization Requirement

Dragon Summer students must complete their immunization requirement sooner than indicated on the New Full-Time Freshman Checklist published by Undergraduate Admissions. Do not delay in getting this form completed.

Completing the form provided here satisfies Drexel University’s Immunization Requirement. Be sure to keep a copy for your records.

Note: Participation in Dragon Summer only requires satisfaction of the University Requirement; however, we have provided a link to information about the College of Nursing and Health Professions here for your convenience.

Information regarding additional Immunization and Physical Exam Requirements for students accepted into the College of Nursing and Health Professions (College Requirement)

IMPORTANT: Do not send your completed Immunization Record form to the address on the form. Please send your Immunization Record form to the Dragon Summer Program:

By sending the completed Immunization Record form to the Dragon Summer Program, you acknowledge that you are permitting the Dragon Summer Program to forward your Immunization Record form to the Office of Counseling and Health for processing.

  • Pick up Drexel Computer and Email Accounts

For Summer Component: You will need to set up access to your Drexel email and computer accounts. Beginning June 6, we will only send email to students’ Drexel email addresses. Check your Drexel email account frequently so that you don’t miss out on important updates from the program!

For Academic Year Component: We will notify you when we change our communications to Drexel email addresses only.

Applicants who have been selected to participate in the Dragon Summer Program will receive a hard-copy Dragon Summer Information and Documents Packet with their selection notification letter. The selection notification letter and documents will be emailed a week after hard copies have been sent.
