Assistant Professor - Experimental Particle Physics
The Department of Physics at Drexel University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the area of experimental particle physics. The appointment is anticipated to be at the Assistant Professor level starting on September 1, 2014. Drexel University is a research institution ranked in the top 100 among PhD granting universities according to US News & World Report. Drexel is located in a cosmopolitan urban environment.
Qualiﬁcations: A Ph.D. in physics or equivalent and postdoctoral experience are required. Candidates should have demonstrated excellence in research and teaching. We are interested in candidates in the area of experimental neutrino physics.
Essential Functions: We are seeking candidates with the potential to lead an exceptional externally-funded research program and to excel in teaching at the graduate and undergraduate level. The successful candidate will join a small but active group of experimentalists working in neutrino physics, specifically the areas of neutrino oscillations (LBNE, PROSPECT) and neutrinoless double beta decay (EXO). We are particularly interested in candidates whose research program will complement and enhance the existing program.
