About Me
Ariana is a PhD candidate and NSF-GRFP fellow pursuing a degree in Materials Science and Engineering. Her doctoral research focuses on the development of conductive and electrochemically active fibers and yarns using MXene, an emerging family of two-dimensional materials. The goal of her work is to knit these fibers and yarns into energy storage devices to power future generations of smart garments. She pursues this research at the Drexel Nanomaterials Institute, advised by Prof. Yury Gogotsi, and the Center for Functional Fabrics, advised by Prof. Genevieve Dion. Before attending Drexel, she graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Fiber and Polymer Science and minors in Materials Science and Business.
Ariana was selected as a Drexel Coulter Fellow for 2015-16, an NSF Graduate Research Fellow for 2017-22, and participated in the Australia–Americas PhD Research Internship Program in 2018 and the 70th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting in 2020.
