Fall 2017 Cross-Country Conversation: It's All Greek to Me

On October 5, 2017, the Office of International Programs hosted our quarterly Cross-Country Conversation event. This fall’s event, titled It’s All Greek to Me, focused on living and learning in a non-native language. The faculty moderator, Dr. Simone Schlichting-Artur, led a student panel in discussion with audience participation about their experiences. Panelists included international undergraduate student Shreeya Agrawal, domestic undergraduate study abroad alums Adelola Popoola and Caitlin Cooper, and domestic graduate students Claire Witherel and Amanda Pentecost. Each panelist shared unique experiences from their time abroad and the differences they found between the United States and other countries. Topics covered included how to communicate professionally with superiors, diverse food portions, and loneliness coupled with Fear Of Missing Out (FOMO). For additional information on Drexel opportunities for research, study, or co-op abroad, or for information on how you can be a panelist at a future Cross-Country Conversation, please email the Office of International Programs at
