Professor Uri Hershberg's Conference in Israel
August 16, 2017
Dr. Uri Hershberg, Associate Professor in the School of Biomedical Engineering at Drexel University, was a co-organizer for the international conference “Stochasticity and Control in the Dynamics and Diversity of Immune Repertoires” hosted in Israel in June. Hershberg also presented at the conference.
With his expertise in biology and computational methods, Dr. Hershberg served as one of the organizers of this multi-national group that gathered the renowned experts in the field from around the world. More than 40 researchers presented at the conference, including scholars from Drexel’s Israeli partner institutions.
The conference took place from June 18th to 23rd and focused on an immune-biological research topic that was made possible by the innovation and development of imaging and molecular measurements at the single-cell and single-molecule level. The attendees discussed and exchanged ideas on how the adaptive immune system is organized to take advantage of stochastic processes at the genetic, molecular, and cellular levels combined, to generate robust immune responses.
