GRAND stands for Global Research and Academic Network at Drexel, which is a new initiative to encourage faculty with international research interests and contacts to link up with one another across the university. Through this network we hope to facilitate global research and academic partnerships, enhance awareness of global opportunities and increase Drexel's international visibility in line with the University's strategic plan.
Jiménez was accused of belonging to a radical underground independence group and was arrested in 1980 for seditious conspiracy and related charges and received a sentence of 98 years. While in prison, Jimanez taught math and basic literacy to illiterate prisoners as well as providing tutoring for the GED exam and English as a second language.
At its last General Assembly meeting that was held in Mozambique, Africa, Dr. Dov Jaron, Calhoun Distinguished Professor of Engineering in Medicine, was elected to the Executive Board of the International Council for Science (ICSU).
September 30, 2008. After spending three weeks in Africa introducing appropriate and sustainable technology, the students wanted to share their experiences with the rest of Drexel community.
