Students who register for and receive accommodations through Disability Resources can receive academic accommodations, housing accommodations and/or dining accommodations.
All students must submit documentation and participate in the interactive process to determine reasonable accommodations. Please note that accommodations are not retroactive; they can only be granted for current and future situations ("forward-looking").
Academic Accommodations can include, but are not limited to, testing accommodations, note-taking assistance, accessible reading materials, classroom modifications, distraction reduced testing, adaptive technology and course substitutions. Housing Accommodations are based on the student's disability. All students who request accommodations in their housing application are required to sign up for housing with University Housing and adhere to the deposit deadlines. Please check the University Housing website for deadlines. Housing must be renewed on a yearly basis.
Students seeking to cancel housing contracts they have already signed, to be excused from the two-year residency requirement, or to receive any other disability accommodation related to housing must go through the registration process with Disability Resources and submit documentation that supports the requested accommodation. Students should submit a request for accommodation at least four (4) weeks prior to any housing deadlines.
Dining Accommodations are based on the student's disability. Students seeking a dining waiver or a change in their meal plan must submit documentation that supports the request. The documentation must be submitted and reviewed by Disability Resources professional staff within the first two weeks of the term. Student requests submitted after the two-week deadline will not be eligible for a full reimbursement.
