We Support Victims of Hurricane Irma

Sept. 11, 2017

Dear Members of the Drexel Community,

It has been a harrowing couple of weeks for those in the paths of two major hurricanes that have hit our shores. Just as with Hurricane Harvey, our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of the devastation caused by Hurricane Irma.

While the impact of Hurricane Irma is still unfolding, our Office of Student Life has already taken steps to support our students and families impacted by the storm. There has been outreach to all students living in the path of the hurricane or have family there. The outreach includes students who have co-op positions in the affected areas. Similar messages of support have been issued through social media for those who are not checking email.

As always, Drexel stands ready to work with students and families in need of assistance to the best of our abilities.

Given the back-to-back hurricanes and the recent earthquake in Mexico, resources across the country are stretched thin. In keeping with our commitment to service and giving, I want to encourage everyone who can to consider making a donation to help victims of Hurricane Irma. The American Red Cross and the Salvation Army are two worthy organizations on the front lines of helping those in need.

A number of organizations in the Philadelphia region are also lending support. We are a strong community, and we stand ready to help each other, and all those in need. Thank you for your continued commitment and generosity.

Sincerely,

John Fry
President
