Drexel to Celebrate the Life and Legacy of the Late Constantine Papadakis in Campus Memorial Tribute

What: Drexel students, faculty, staff, trustees and friends who were touched by the life and vision of Drexel University President Constantine Papadakis will—together with his wife Eliana and their daughter Maria—celebrate his life and honor his legacy at a University-wide memorial tribute tomorrow.
Who: Pennsylvania Governor Edward Rendell and Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter will speak about Papadakis’s commitment to the City and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell will read a resolution passed by Philadelphia City Council on April 30, recognizing his outstanding service to the City. Drexel Interim President C.R. “Chuck” Pennoni, Board Chairman Richard C. Greenawalt, Drexel University College of Medicine Chairman Manual Stamatakis, and student and faculty representatives will also speak about Papadakis’s impact on their lives and Drexel experience. Drexel’s 60-member Gospel Choir will perform.
Note: Drexel alumna and current graduate student Maria Papadakis ’08 will share memories of her father.
When: Thursday, May 7, 2009, beginning at 3:30 p.m.
