For the first time in the 30-year history of the Colonial Athletic Association men’s soccer tournament, the Drexel Dragons will play host to this year’s event as they clinched the No. 1 overall seed with a 2-0 victory over James Madison on Friday night. The Dragons (12-3-2, 8-1-1) won the league outright for the first time, and earned a bye into the semifinals of the six-team draw.

The tournament kicks off with first-round games at James Madison and Hofstra, the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds, respectively. The winners of those games will advance to Philadelphia, where Drexel will play host to the CAA Tournament semifinals and championship game this weekend. The semifinals will be at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the championship game will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday. All three games will be at Vidas Field.

The Dragons will play at 7:30 p.m. on Friday against the winner of No. 4 Hofstra and No. 5 George Mason. Also earning a first-round bye is second-seeded Northeastern, which finished the season 11-2-4, 6-1-3 in the CAA. The CAA has sent multiple teams to the NCAA Tournament eight times in the past ten years, including a league-record four teams last season. Drexel, which won the national championship in 1958, will be in search of its first NCAA berth since 1972.

Daily tickets are $5 for adults, with children under 12 and students with valid ID admitted free.
