A.J. Drexel Autism Institute Gears Up for Second Eagles Autism Challenge — With Free Registration for Faculty and Staff
Last year, the Philadelphia Eagles hosted the inaugural Eagles Autism Challenge bike ride and 5K run/walk to benefit local institutions making great strides in autism research — including Drexel University’s very own A.J. Drexel Autism Institute. The inaugural event raised $2.5 million, and Drexel received $805,000 to fund future research.
Now, the Eagles are hosting the benefit competition for the second year in a row, on May 18 at Lincoln Financial Field — and the University will once again be one of the main beneficiaries.
Drexel faculty and staff have the opportunity to join “Team Drexel University” to participate and raise funds — President John Fry completed last year’s Eagles Autism Challenge — and can choose to run, walk or bike ride. Dragons employed by the University can use the promo code Drexel19 to waive their registration fee. The full registration cost will be covered for both the $50 fee for the 5K run and ride as well as the $150 fee for the 15-,30- and 50-mile bike ride.
