“Health on the Go” Conference to Explore Impact of Mobile Health Apps

'Health on the Go: the Law and Business of mHealth' will explore the fast-growing revolution in the delivery of health care

Health care is rapidly moving from the doctor’s office to the palm of the hand, with 500 million people expected to use mobile health apps by 2015. This shift creates tremendous opportunities and risks for entrepreneurs, providers, clinicians and patients.

“Health on the Go: the Law and Business of mHealth,” a conference to be held at Drexel University’s School of Law (3320 Market St.) on Friday, April 4, will explore this fast-growing revolution in the delivery of health care. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, click here. Four Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits are available, including two ethics credits, for $100.

The interdisciplinary conference will feature presentations by faculty and administrators from numerous Drexel University colleges and offices: Drexel Law, the College of Medicine, the College of Computing & Informatics, the Close School of Entrepreneurship and the ExCITe Center.

Presentations on the impact of mHealth on practitioners, investors, regulators and IT developers will be made by experts from the University of Pennsylvania, the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Independence Blue Cross, Duane Morris, the ECRI Institute and Big Yellow Star, Inc.

Nicolas Terry of the Indiana University School of Law will give the keynote: “‘Siri, Call My Doctor!’ The Interaction of Mobile and Traditional Health Care.”
