Scott Perri and Mark Manos Named Honorable Mention All-Americans

Drexel men’s lacrosse senior Scott Perri and junior Mark Mark Manos have been named Honorable Mention All-Americans by the United State Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association. Perri and Manos are the first Drexel teammates to be named to the All-American team in the same year in more than 50 years.

Perri, an attackman, closed out an outstanding senior season by being named the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year. He led the CAA in goals, assists and points per game. Perri is second heading into Memorial Day weekend in the nation in points per game and is ranked in the top 10 nationally in all three major offensive categories. Perri finished his final season at Drexel with 39 goals, 27 assists and 66 points. His 66 points were the most by a Dragon since the 1991 season, when John Colt had 69 points. Perri scored three or more goals eight times, and had five goals on three different occasions. He finished his career 11th all-time at Drexel in goals (89), 10th in assists (59) and 12th in points (148).

Manos, a junior goalkeeper, was named to the All-America team for the second straight season. He enters the weekend ranked sixth in the nation in saves per game with just under 12 per contest and is 12th in all of Division I with a .563 save percentage. Manos made 10 or more saves in 10 games this year, including a career-high 19 at Virginia. A Third Team All-American a year ago, Manos is the first Dragon to be named to the team twice since Lynn Ferguson in 1971. He is also the first back-to-back All-American selection since Nick Falcone achieved the feat in 1961, the last season Drexel had more than one person named to the All-American team. Manos has a chance to make school history next season, as no Dragon has ever been named to three straight All-American teams in the 65-year history of Drexel lacrosse.

Drexel has now had at least one All-American in men’s lacrosse in four of the last five years. Defenseman Adam Crystal was an Honorable Mention pick in 2007 and Bruce Bickford, Manos’ predecessor in the cage, was an Honorable Mention selection in 2008.
